DAN NADANER

 Biography

 Dan Nadaner is a painter and video artist.  His works use visual experimentation and alternative structures to explore dream and stream of consciousness.  His paintings explore a flow of painterly space that moves in and out of the symbolic order.  In his works he seeks to connect diverse times and places, including travels, losses, moments of encountering the unknown, and the flow of consciousness in these moments.

  Dan Nadaner received the A.B. degree from Harvard College, where he studied at the Carpenter Center.  He continued the study of painting at the California College of Arts and Crafts, and received the M.F.A. in painting from the University of California, Berkeley.  He has received a fellowship from the Rockefeller Foundation and been Artist-in-Residence at Yosemite National Park.  He has exhibited his works in Japan, China, Argentina and France.  He has presented lectures on his work at the University of British Columbia, the State Academy of Art in Oslo, and the Studio Art Centers International in Florence.  He is a member of the art faculty at California State University, Fresno.
